UK customers of 3 will be able to use Skype on their mobiles by the end of the year.
The 3 Group are launching a flat-rate unlimited-usage mobile Internet plan known as the X-Series. Users will be able to make free calls to Skype users. The plan will be available for the Nokia N73 and the Sony Ericsson W950i, though Skype might only be available on the Nokia N73. SkypeIn and SkypeOut won't be available immediately, though are planned for 2007.
Today, Skype Mobile can be used in the health industry. Richard Kimball, Jr. of HEXL advocates telemedicine which aids physician-patient treatments even when at home.
